Scouts

Scouts (10½ to 14 years)

Scouts are young people aged 10½ to 14 years, meeting weekly in a group called a Scout Troop. Scouts take on bigger adventures, develop real skills and begin to make a genuine difference in the world around them.

What do Scouts get up to?

  • 🏕️ Camping, kayaking and water sports
  • 🎯 Archery, abseiling and climbing
  • 🗺️ Navigation, survival and outdoor skills
  • 🌍 Community projects and making a real difference
  • 💻 Coding, digital skills and creative challenges
  • 🚀 Developing leadership and lifelong confidence

Skills and character

Scouts discover the world on their own terms. Working alongside trained volunteer leaders, they master skills for life — from outdoor craft to teamwork, leadership and problem-solving. They stand up for what they believe in, take on community challenges, and say yes more often than they say no.

Badges and Awards

Scouts can earn dozens of activity badges — from aviation and electronics to cooking and emergency aid. They work towards Challenge Awards covering adventure, community, creative and outdoors, with the Chief Scout’s Gold Award as the highest honour in Scouts.

At 4th Andover

Our Scout Troop meets on Thursday 19:15 – 21:15 at Goodworth Clatford, near Andover. We welcome young people aged 10½ to 14 who are ready to push themselves, try new things and be part of something bigger.
