Beavers

Beavers (6 to 8 years)

Beavers are our youngest members, aged 6 to 8 years, who meet weekly in a group called a Beaver Colony. They get their first taste of adventure, friendship and skills for life — all while having lots of fun.

What do Beavers get up to?

  • 🎨 Arts, crafts and creative projects
  • 🌿 Outdoor adventures, den building and nature walks
  • 🏕️ Sleepovers and trips away from home
  • 🤝 Helping others in their local community
  • ⭐ Earning badges and completing fun challenges
  • 😄 Playing games and making brand new friends

Skills and character

Beavers don’t just learn from books — they figure out the world by exploring, playing and doing. They develop character skills like integrity (being honest and doing what’s right) and initiative (taking the lead without being asked). Most of all, they build the confidence to try new things.

Badges and Awards

Beavers can earn a wide range of activity badges — from arts and crafts to swimming and first aid — as well as challenge awards that push them to do more and be more. The highest honour is the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award.

At 4th Andover

Our Beaver Colony meets on Tuesday 18:15 – 19:30 at Goodworth Clatford, near Andover. We welcome children aged 6 to 8 of all backgrounds and abilities. No uniform needed to come along — just enthusiasm!
